Continuing Education...
After
completing the post-licensing education requirement during the
initial license period, active and active licensees must complete
at least 14 hours of continuing education during every 2-year
license period after that. Three of the 14 hours must consist
of core law, which includes updates to applicable rules and
statutes. A licensee who takes the 3-hour core law course in
each year of the renewal period receives 6 hours of credit toward
the 14-hour continuing education requirement. The continuing
education requirement may be satisfied by attending 14 classroom
hours of instruction, by completing an approved distance education
course, or by attending a Commission-approved education seminar
or conference. A licensee can earn 3 hours of specialty continuing
education (not core law) by attending a Commission meeting.
Licensees must preregister with the DRE to earn credit for attending
such a meeting. Active members in good standing with the Florida
Bar are exempt from the continuing education requirements for
real estate licenses (but not from post-licensing education
requirements).
